Mr. Henry Buhl will host the annual Sunflower Festival at his beautiful Southampton estate Girasole. This year's festival theme is "Summer Knights and Ladies" a live auction of dates with prominent bachelors and bachelorettes. The auction promises to add just the right spark of excitement and summer madness to the evening's festivities. Summer Knights and Ladies will walk gallantly and gracefully down the runway awaiting their bidder. Winning bidders get to spend an afternoon or evening in the company of the charming Knight or Lady of their choice. Our Knights and Ladies have generously volunteered their time to benefit the cause that the Sunflower Festival supports - the ACE (Association of Community Employment Services for the Homeless) and the SoHo and Tribeca partnerships founded by Mr. Buhl. The Partnerships are all 501 (c)(3) not for profit organizations providing employment readiness training and job placement for recovering homeless men and women from throughout New York City. The core of the employment training is the carrying out of community improvement projects with the ultimate goal of obtaining full-time employment and permanent housing. These organizations are almost entirely funded by private donations and community membership. Wine dine and dance the night away in a field of sunflowers… a setting of burnished gold. The gala evening also promises a host of other activities… a silent auction of luxury goods, a raffle of the DaimlerChrysler Smart car, music by Chanteuse Peggy Cone and her Gentlemen, and two live DJs, Sean Merrian and Eric Tomasini. Mr. Henry Buhl will host an exclusive and limited VIP dinner. This year's Sunflower Festival also markes the "uncovering" of the Sunflower pool executed by artist Marcia Grostein. The Guest list of 800 people includes high profile individuals from the fashion, media, art, entertainment and business worlds. Celebrities and media will attend. Tickets for the benefit are available at four levels. The Black paddle at $500 per person includes cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, an invitation to the exclusive VIP dinner followed by dessert, dancing and prime seating for viewing of the live auction "Summer Knights and Ladies". The Platinum paddle at $250 per person includes cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, a seated view of the "Summer Knights and Ladies" auction, dinner, dessert and dancing. The Gold paddle at $125 includes cocktails, a view of the "Summer Knights and Ladies" auction, a buffet, dessert and dancing. The Blue paddle at $75 includes drinks, dessert and dancing. Festivities begin at 7 p.m.
